As part of a thanksgiving on the arrival of Adam, we performed the Akikah ritual on 31 Dec 06. We had it done at the Darul Aman mosque at Eunos.

Since your Daddy's family celebrate X'mas thus we celebrate X'mas as well! This year we celebrate X'mas in KL. On 23rd Dec, off we go to KL by Aeroline bus. We took the 9am bus and we were scheduled to reach KL in 6 hrs. But unfortunately, the journey took longer than expected. Due to floods and road works, we were delayed for 2 hours. Adam was pretty restless in the coach. We stayed at Corrus hotel.

X'mas day at 1am, we went to grandpa's hse and opened the pressies. Adam was excited opening all this presents.

We returned back to SG on 26th Dec and it was a great X'mas celebration

On 19th Nov 06, after attending a complimentary class at Babies n Creams, courtesy of Godma Fis, Mummy decided to take Adam for a shopping spree at Vivo City. Upon reaching there, he was fascinated with the water fountain in front of Vivo. He didn't stop looking at the water sprouting out from the ground.

BK was giving out crowns to kids and Adam want to be the king of the day as well.....

As usual when mummy sees kids retail shop, mummy can't resist it. Bought a Brazilian jersey for Adam from Lamer. The jersey has the no 9 on it...Ronaldo's

On 11th Nov, mummy decided to bring Adam to JB for Raya visiting at Tok Rahmat. Mummy,nenek,Pak Uda and auntie was all set to drive in to JB at 9.30am. Thank goodness it wasn't jam at the causeway. Manage to clear the custom in a breeze....

24th Oct 06 was Adam's 1st Hari Raya celebration. Since Mummy, Nenek and Auntie want to perform the Raya's prayers, we have no choice but to bring Adam to the mosque. Adam was the 1st to wake up that morning at 5am. Dress him up in his new baju kurung and took a cab to Darul Aman. Reached the mosque real early around 7am. We managed to get a good location right at the corner end. Didn't want to disturb the others since we had a lil boy with us. At first, Adam was quite disorientated to be around all the jemaahs but he managed to adapt. He slept a few minutes before the prayers and woke up seconds before the prayers starts. Mummy has no choice but to carry him and comfort him. After prayers, we went straight home to wait for guests.

1st Haircut

On 21st Oct 06, Daddy was giving Adam his 1st haircut since his hair was shaved. Adam has a wavy hair, his hair grow longer at the ear section, and it kept on poking his ear. Being Adam, he would kept on touching his ear and scratching it. So to stop it, Daddy decided to trim his hair at the ear area.

It was just a quick trim but it takes more than 1/2 hr. Adam could not sit still, had to distract him with his toys.

On 13th Oct 06, celebrated Daddy's birthday. This year it's the first time we are celebrating it with Adam. Mummy had told Adam about the surprise for Daddy tonight. Unfortunately after breaking fast, he went to sleep. Mummy whisper to his ears and reminded him about our surprise. He immediately open his eyes and got up. We surprised Daddy by bringing the cake to him while he watching TV. Adam was smilling all the way :)

On 9th Sept, Mummy and Daddy decided to bring Adam for a swim. This will be his 1st time dipping into the pool. All geared with his swimming suit, Adam was ready for the swim.

Daddy went to the pool with Adam. When he first had a feel of the water, he was smilling. He was enjoying it. Jumping around on the water. Suddenly, the waves came, Adam began to panic and scared when the water starts to splash to his face. He cried and cried. Daddy decided to bring him out of the water. So that was all for his 1st dip to the pool. It was just 10 minutes of swimming. Will definately bring Adam again for a swim. I guess this time he will not be so panicky.

I can't believe that Adam is going to turn 5 months in two weeks time. Time flies really fast. He had grown so much from a tiny little baby to a bouncing chubby baby! He is a very bubbly boy, will smile and laugh to familiar faces. I can never get enough of his smile!! He loves his daily boat ride with Daddy and his daily squabble with Daddy! Adam's trademark is his habit of sucking his fingers. I guess the fingers are really yummy. He would sit down every day quitely when I read his favourite book. My cute lil boy.... Mummy can't wait to see you grow!!

Look how fast Adam had grown! He would lie back and enjoy the bath. He loves taking his bath everyday and he would jump and jump in the tub and all the water would splash out!

Adam's daily massage routine

Adam's 1st overseas trip was to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 8th July 06. We took the Aeroline coach bus from Waterfront Hotel.
Adam got up early that day and all ready to leave. Just before leaving home, Adam drooled all his milk on to his new overall, we have to change him again. He was so excited boarding the bus.
After passing the Singapore and Malaysia immigration, he decided to stir a commotion. He pooed! Thank God, the bus was a double decker bus. Me and Su went down to the lower deck and changed him there. There was two girls watching Initial D, we just ignored them and changed Adam's diapers. Sorry girls for the extra fragrance...hehehehehe...
We reached KL at around 2pm, the bus stopped at Corrus hotel. Waited about 5 minutes for Danny to fetch us. We checked in at Sucasa apartments. It was a two bedroom service apartment. Not too bad, full amenities. We were at the 3rd floor. After changing Adam we went to Danny's wine shop. Sat there for lunch and just laze around. We went back to our hotel room and had our dinner in our room. Adam was such a good boy that day!
Next day, my in laws drop by at the hotel. They sat there for an hour then we went to the hospital to meet my father in law. He was not in good condition. He was in tears when he saw Adam, his 2nd grandson..another Thexeira! Went shopping at KLCC. Adam was having fun looking around at new place. Went to Danny's place after shopping and spend the evening there.
Overall, Adam was a good boy during the whole trip. Mummy and Daddy so proud of you!

THE EXTRA SKIN

Circumcision is compulsory to all Muslims. But lately, other races also got their child to remove the extra skin for hygiene purposes. It had been a trend that parents got their boys to be circumcise early in their lifes. Doctors would circumcise any boys who are at least 2 weeks old.

We decided to do that to Adam last week. He was 2 months old. It was a just a brief surgery. I was there to witness the whole procedure. I felt the pain when the doctor had to give him an injection around his part to make it numb. That is when lil Adam cried at the top of his voice. The rest of procedure he was being a brave boy, I guess he felt numb...no feeling. It was a gruesome surgery cutting off the extra skin, but it is for his own good later. A plastic 'ring' was attached to his part and the doctor reckoned that it will drops off five to eight days after. Meanwhile, we have to put medication on it after every nappy change.

A lot of people was saying that it was good to have the surgery done when they are younger. It will heal faster as they don't eat different kinds of food and don't move around. I have to agree on that but, it is also sad to see them getting the injection and bearing the pain but not able to express it to their parents. They just cry and cry and cry. Adam was moody and cranky since the surgery. I believed he was controlling the pain. My heart hurts everytime he cries cause I know he is agonising the pain.

His 'ring' dropped off on the 4th day. I was happy for him. Now we just have to wait for it to dry up.

My Adam was very strong going thru this ordeal.....Adam, mummy is so proud of you!!

SCRAPBOOKING

I am into scrapbooking lately. I had decided to start to cherish every single memories of my lil Adam. So I got myself enrolled into a beginner scrapbooking class at Wheelock Place. It was a very educational class for me. I didn't know till then that scrapbooking is definately an expensive hobby but once your scrapbook is complete it is definately a 'Show' piece and it will last for many years to come.

After the class, I spend $200 buying album, papers, letterings and emblishments for my Adam's scrapbook. There were so many cute items that I just buy and buy.... Till now I had just manage to finish 2 pages of his scrapbook. My goal is to finish his scrapbook before I return back to work! Definately can do it!!

Had managed to find out how heavy is Adam's hair. Went to the nearest goldsmith shop and got them to weigh and convert the weight to the price of gold. His hair was worth $80 of gold. Next is to give away the money to the mosque or to the needy people. Chris and I had decided to give it to the mosque for mosque building.
